The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is a partnership between the FBI and the
National White
Collar Crime Center. Since
it became operational in May 2000, IC3 has received more than two million complaints, illustrating
both the increased visibility of IC3 and the continued growth of cyber crime.
The mission of IC3 is to receive, develop and refer cyber crime complaints to local, state, federal and international law enforcement agencies. IC3 gives cyber crime victims a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities to suspected criminal or civil violations.
This website examines the data collected by IC3 and presented in its 2010 Internet Crime Report.
