The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) provides victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting system to alert authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations. IC3 uses information from the complaints to detect emerging trends and to proactively fight consumer victimization through education efforts and various publications and reports.
IC3 offers a number of valuable resources for law enforcement, including analytical assistance and help in building cases. The Internet Complaint Search and Investigation System (ICSIS) allows law enforcement to search all complaints sent to IC3 and to share case information seamlessly between jurisdictions.
